The real context of digital transformation, present throughout the world, provides a set of particular opportunities to countries such as Cape Verde, whose insularity encourages the adoption of digital media. Because of this situation, it is important to discuss the main economic-digital challenges Cape Verde is facing at this phase. Therefore, in the era of digital transformation and the entry of global governance regulations, what challenges does Cape Verde face? We will answer this and other questions in the 4th edition of this forum in the country.

Keynote-Speaker

Pedro Duarte Neves

He will discuss what are the digital challenges existing in the current changing environment of Cape Verde and what kind of future may exist in the country in relation to this topic and other similar themes.

As a professional, he was Vice-Governor of Banco de Portugal from June 2006 to September 2017. He was also Chairman of the Portuguese Deposit Guarantee Fund, Chairman of the National Council of Audit Supervision and Chairman of the Portuguese Resolution Fund. He was the Alternate Chairman of the European Banking Authority from July 2013 to June 2018. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Consumer Protection and Financial Innovation of the European Banking Authority. He chaired several European committees at the FSB, EBA, and ESAs. Moreover, he is, since September 2017, the Advisor of the Board at Banco de Portugal. Also, he is a Visiting Professor at Catolica Lisbon Business and Economics, where he has been teaching graduation courses in Economics and Business Management, MBAs and executive courses.
